Welcome into the Winds and Losses podcast. This is only our second edition of this podcast.

I think you guys are going to love his story and I'm excited to dive in with him now.

We are joined this week by Shannon Terry. For those of you who do not know Shannon, he has built up the rivals network and sold it to Yahoo.

He has built up 24-7 sports and sold it to CBS. He's got another universe of the web that he has built called popculture.com.

We'll ask him all about that comicbook.com, all different sorts of arenas there.

But the concept for Winds and Losses, if you have not listened before is I feel like a lot of time we focus on the successes that people have in law.

We don't talk about what they learned from losses along the way or even how close a win may have felt to a loss or vice versa.

I've known Shannon for a while. I'm going to bring him in now.

He lives where I do in Nashville, Tennessee. He came up here and I want to start there.

Shannon, you were an athlete who comes to Nashville. You grew up in North Alabama.

How did you find yourself growing up? What was your background like?

I'll start there. You're from North Alabama. What was your hometown like? What was your early childhood like when you were growing up?

I grew up in Woodville, which is about 20 miles east of Huntsville.

That Gunnersville Scotts were a Huntsville corridor. Really, really small town.
