The U.S. dominated Chile on Tuesday, and we are going to chat about the winners and losers of the entire U.S. January camp.

Welcome to this week's edition of The Late Sub.

I am your host, Claire Watkins.

It is Wednesday, January 28th, and we're going to be chatting about some of the big picture stuff coming out of the US

national teams January camp.

We saw a lot of goals.

We saw no goals against.

But there are some things in between the lines here that are more interesting than that

in terms of players that stepped up, the shape of the team, which I actually think might

carry into these future months more than anything else.

And also maybe some losers, some players we didn't

see do as do as much, I guess, or just kind of the nature of overmatched opposition and what

that means for figuring out a defense. Let's dig it.

All right. So a little change of scenery for me this week. I am in L.A. for the NWSL Media

Days getting ready before preseason. Truly kicks off and just down the road in Santa Barbara last night.

The U.S. and his national team closed out January camp with another dominant performance.

This time taking down Chile 5-0 in Santa Barbara, with a lot of attack

and not a lot of defending, sending fans home. Very, very happy. Some things to glean here,

perhaps, but it was, again, another overmatched opponent looking like, you know, the U.S.

is shipping 11 goals to nil on the entire week. On the game itself, we saw Trinity Robbins

score her second goal in as many games.
