For the first time in over eight years, the U.S. men's national team is headed to a knockout

round of the World Cup, David Goss, Bobby Warsaw, Matt Doyle, and Andrew Weeby with you.

Today our daily World Cup reaction show as well as to everyone listening in the extra

time feed right now, normally we've got categories, we've got scripts, we've got reads, we've

got everything else to do for our shows, but today's a little different, because it's

a little simple.

We've all been waiting at least five years, some of us have been waiting eight, some

of us maybe even longer for the moment that we saw today and it's pretty special what

went down.

So we are going to dig into everything U.S. men's national teamversy run, we're going

to talk about what happened, how we got here, the last few years, some of the heroes

on and off the field as well as of course looking ahead to Bobby's beloved Netherlands

on a Saturday, it was a matchup made in heaven, but let's start out with an opening thought

for all of us and where you're at and where your mind is going as the U.S. finishes in

second place in group B behind England and advances to the next round.

For me, it's the five-plus year, some of the lowest points in U.S. men's national team

history.

It is KUVA, which was the lowest point arguably in U.S. men's national team history.

It was the unknown, it was a lot of other things and we'll talk about a lot of that, but
