older when he plays his first NBA game. He'll be 24 years of age. And guys like that have typically

not performed particularly well. David Locke's talked about

this numerous times when he gives those numbers that a guy like Baylor Shireman was 23 playing

18 year olds and that's the same as a 12th grader playing a seventh grader. And I think that is a very

valid point. I do think when the goal is to win now, that there is some

advantage to playing older. So a guy like Baylor Shireman, having more immediate success at others

is a good thing. Now, at Chris Duarte, having a very good first year and tailing off, not a good

thing. I typically am not terribly into the age discussion, but I do think it's more necessary to discuss

because the jazz have aspirations of winning.

And when you're trafting the topic, you typically don't.
