Summary

Hearts were won on Centre Court on day 3, but for once, not by seven-time champion Roger Federer.

His opponent Marcus Willis, ranked 772 in the world, only won seven games, but the combination of his wide-eyed, cheeky-chappie, smiley reaction to getting his Centre Court opportunity was a breath of fresh of air.

Catherine Whitaker and David Law are joined by the Telegraph's Charlie Eccleshare and BBC 5 Live's Philip Studd to discuss it all.

Plus, how did Novak Djokovic look? What about the other Brits - Konta, Evans and Watson? And find out what happened when David bumped into umpires Mohamed lahyani and Carlos Barnardes.

The Tennis Podcast is produced in association with Telegraph Sport.

We will have new shows every night during Wimbledon.

romantic stories imaginable. We're the players only want about seven games in a match but he was ranked

it has been wet. It has been drizzly but how the whole atmosphere has been lit up by what's happened

on Sunday court today. We've had no vac job of it, studying a new opening or a record for

1:08.1

Grand Slam wins consecutively and we've had Marcus Willis, the fairy tale man who has shaken hands

1:14.8

with Roger Federer, embraced arguably the greatest player of all time at the net after putting on

1:19.4

a terrific show in front of a pack crowd under the roof. The noise reverberating around the stadium

1:25.3

like some rock concert. It's a day that Marcus Willis will never forget and no one who was there

1:30.6

will ever forget it. No, Philip doesn't get that animated easily. It has to be good.

1:36.4

Catherine Whittaker, you're not one for hyperbole either. However, even you will win over as well,

1:42.8

aren't you? Let's be honest, twinkle in the eye, tear in the eye, I would say.

1:47.4

Yes, absolutely. I was going to say I learned everything I know about being deadpan from Philip

1:54.8

Sturds and I'm very proud to say. But yeah, it was hard to be in the face of Marcus Willis, wasn't it?

1:59.6

My favourite, well, it's hard to pick a favourite thing but possibly the fact that he walked on to
