Summary

There was a morning after the night before feel to Day 3 at Wimbledon. Rain delayed the start of play by a couple of hours and when it eventually did begin, defeats for Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray dampened home spirits. In a podcast which goes in many directions, Catherine, David and Matt discuss those results and the press conferences which followed, as well as the rest of the day’s stories, including a much better performance from Novak Djokovic, Anett Kontaveit’s covid struggles, Garbine Muguruza’s total lack of confidence, the wide open section in the men’s draw, and unmissable aggro involving doubles partners Tamara Korpatsch and Harmony Tan.

half a bird. Yeah, very nice, it was too. We all opened up fortune cookies. We'd

ever like to disclose their fortune please. David, hold on, I've got to turn it around.

1:01.6

Pick a path with your heart. Love it. My mind was the greatest wisdom is kindness.

Can't argue with any of it so far, Matt. Mine was a bit of an attack. It was when you're in a whole

stop digging. Did they know something that? Right then. Now where I want to go from here,

1:27.2

and I realise I haven't prepped either of you for this, is some sort of a tennis projection

today, Matt? It's amazing. That felt like it's pre-plan, but it wasn't. Well, he found a

sort of a strange way to lose, shall we say. He was of course in another fifth set tie break,

2:09.9

this time against Yuri Vesely, just a couple of days after his fifth set tie break victory over

2:16.3

Hubert Hurkach, and he got a code violation during the fifth set tie break. So of course,

2:27.6

another code violation would result in a point penalty. So he needed to stop digging at that point.

2:34.3

He was in a hole, but he kept digging and he got himself another code violation this time for

2:40.9

ball abuse on match point when he was match point down. So he lost an epic five setter because he

got a point penalty on match point. And from the scenes I saw he stayed on court sat in his chair

for a very long time. He long after Yuri Vesely had left the court. And he had a discussion in
