I'm a hundred percent a scratch mini golfer. We'll have Kev, we'll have you put up the little clip of me, mini golfing and the scorecard from today because it was unbelievable. unbelievable. What under par, right? Yeah, one under par. We're here in Panama City Beach, Florida. We got Wave God, Willie Wilcox, former PGA tour pro. It's a, you know, it's crazy. I was on Twitter and Instagram one day, a couple of weeks ago and like, I was getting all these DMs like, oh, have Willie Wilcox on the show the show have Willy Wilcox on the show and then I started reading some articles I'm like oh fuck yeah we got to get them on the show Barstool was a Barstool blessed us and send us out here to Panemaciti Beach um played around with Will I'll tell you what um you're good I appreciate it yeah you're good you're good you're good you're good. You're good. You're good. Um,

3:28.1

the article was crazy that I read. It was, um, his golf digesting. It was some like Willie Wilcox living a lie like for all these, all these years. Yeah. Was a drug, pretty much a drug addict playing professional golf. Yeah. When did, um, when did that start for you? Like, so you started golf at how old, like six years old, you said, right? Yeah, six and was really compete competing a ton at nine But I'd play little stuff at six and your your mom ran a course. Yeah, she ran a course starting in 1990 in Alabama Which is pretty I mean, that's pretty rare so she was she was doing really well to run that golf course for over 10 years and then When did you you start noticing, like, oh, shit, like, I got a problem. And how did it start? Was it like, did drinking all the time and smoking weed all the time? Did it lead you? Yeah, that's that's why I started. And then in Alabama, I was just easy to get pain pills. I mean, it was very flippant. Everybody was like, you know, these are birdy pills, these are golfing pills, whatever. So you didn't really think about it. You just, just took them and that started probably 16, 17. And then by the time I was in college, it was, I mean, I got, I got arrested like six times in the 19 months I was at UAV. So yeah, at that point when it's affecting your life that massively, I knew something was going awry. And but you were still competing and you were still like, Yeah, I was playing good. I mean, I was, I was one internament's played on the starting five of that UAV, my freshman year in the fall. So like we're straight into school. I was, you know, qualifying one or two. And then I, then I've had Christmas break. I just went off the rails, so.

4:49.5

But yeah. So like we're straight into school, I was, you know, qualifying one or two. And then I then I've had Christmas break.

4:46.8

Uh, I just went off the rails. So, um, but yeah, I then I was working in the sandwich. My coach is sandwiched up and how old were you then? Uh, 18, 19, 18, 19, you had two weeks into school. Jesus. That wasn't a good start. Yeah. That's a bad start. bad star and you got your tour card at how old were you?

5:07.6

It was in 2013. I was 26. 26 when you got it. And when did the extreme downfall, when did that happen? How old was that? I mean, I got the card in 13. I mean, I had really bad years in 09 end of 11, all of 12. And then I would go get clean and that's straighten up and be good for like nine months. And so I'd play really good in those nine months. And then I'd fall off again. Gotcha. So that was way it would go. And then they eventually took your card away. I mean, yeah, you lose your card if you don't say on the top 150. And in 2017, I've been living in Jupiter for four years. And I met the wrong dude and just started going down a bad path again. And so they take away your tour card. And I mean, obviously it had to do with like, you getting fucked up all the time. Yeah, I mean, I nobody knew that. Yeah, nobody I knew that. Yeah, but I'm saying your play definitely like decreased like significantly. Like, how long have you have right now off off off of drugs? It's like 75 and you're like, like, dude, you're playing great. It's gotten a lot better. It's got yeah I mean it's crazy. I mean just it's amazing. The resilience of you know the human body like thank God. Yeah and like yesterday we were chatting and you're like you shot 69 yesterday and that was like your first like kind of tournament right back in seven eight months yeah. Jesus. So like what you started your podcast, right? Got a podcast. What's that called? Episode 12 this week, tier time with Jim Renner and myself. And we got a great list of, I was just PGH or winner after PGH or winner. This week is Graham Delette. He's a president's cup player, awesome player from Ken, but yeah, yeah, to your time.

7:05.0

What is, um, like, what's, what's next for you now? Like you, you overcome, like, the, the addiction part and like, fucking up, getting sober, fucking up, getting sober. Now do you feel like you're like, you're back, you want to stick to like, you're not going to fuck up again. You're going to stick to to it like, what's your next goal for you and golf?

7:22.8

I want to give it a realistic chance.

7:24.2

I've never really given myself a real opportunity

7:27.0

other than in 2010. I grinded 11. I grinded in 13. But other than that, I pretty much haven't done anything for almost 10 years to like improve my game. I mean, 15 I had a great year, but I was still partying really hard. I wouldn't do an OV. It's anything. I was but I was drinking a lot. So that wasn't perfect, but

7:45.7

But yeah, I just, I mean, just stay, stay the course. I mean, it's been so good. Like the change has been so massive. Yeah. Physically and mentally. So it's just, you know, it's a no brainer. Yes. Crazy. Like I started like a couple of weeks back. I like made a decision. and I was like, you know, I definitely suck at golf. You could test that. I mean, you had some good shots towards the end.

8:07.4

It just had to feel it out.

8:08.4

Yeah, I mean, I like made a decision. I was like, you know, I definitely suck at golf. You could have tested that.

8:05.9

I mean, you had some good shots towards the end.
