I saw something on our walk last night that made me so happy.

32 degrees. The wind is calm. The sun is shining. There is still snow on the ground.

Maybe hear that.

But not nearly as much as yesterday and certainly not as much as 48 hours ago.

The sunshine here in South Carolina is a great snow removal tool.

And we had a full day of sun yesterday with temperatures, I think, in the low 40s.

So most of the snow that remains is snow that basically sits in shadows most of the day.

Walking along the wooded trail, and there's some snow here, but largely the trail is snow-free, even though there's some snow here but largely the trail is snow free even though there's a decent amount of tree cover on both sides clearly a lot of the trail does get sunshine enough that

that a lot of this has has melted.

So last night, Ava and I were out for our after-dinner walk,

and we saw something that made me extremely happy.

We were walking and a bird flew in front of us, and Ava said,

was that a, and then she mentioned the bird bird and I didn't think it was I saw it

thought it was a hawk and I said but I didn't say that I said yeah I saw it I don't think it was and I mentioned the bird that

she thought it was I said I don't think it was that, but it was something.

And she laughed.

And she said, well, of course it was something.

I said, no, no, no, no.

I mean, it was something that we don't normally see.
