In this podcast, we are going to return to the rather difficult topic of slavery.

And we've talked a little bit about this in earlier episodes, but this episode story

we are going to be reviewing it from the viewpoint of an abolitionist.

First off, I want to make sure you understand two important facts. Fact number one.

I want to make sure we talk about the fact that slavery was not an invention of the ages of

exploration or colonization. It wasn't started by the British Empire or the Spanish Empire

or the Americans. The truth of the matter is this. Slavery in some shape or form has been around

since shortly after the fall. If you have heard or listened to stories from the Bible,

you know that there was slavery in that time period too. Slavery is evil and it's wrong.

And it has always been evil and wrong. And it will always be evil and wrong. I wish I could say

that it doesn't exist today, but that would not be true because it does. It does exist, unfortunately.

Fact number two. It's super important to understand that we all have the ability to be evil

and to choose wrong and evil actions. Although people who love Jesus try to make doing good things

their usual choice, there are times when greed and self-centeredness cloud the human mind.

This happens when we are not thinking or caring about how Jesus loves all humankind.

When that has happened in history, there are terrible consequences that have followed.
