Hi, this is William Ramsey. Welcome to William Ramsey Investigates on today's show. I just kind of have a celebration, good news.

This will be my 1,000th episode of William Ramsey Investigates on my podcast. So I hit some kind of new marker, and I just kind of wanted to do a retrospective of where it all started,

how I got to this point, how I got to the top 0.5% podcast in the world.

I didn't expect that, but kind of that's where I am.

But I've had a lot of great interviews.

I've learned a lot.

I've really met some terrific people that I didn't expect. I was really just started out as

kind of a fringe Christian writer, like writing underground stuff. And my first book was 2010.

My second was 2012. That was about the West Memphis three. And then,

Children of the Beast. And then 2017, I did the documentary about the Smiley Face Killers.

That was three and a half hours, three and a half hour documentary.

So if people haven't seen that, they can check it out.

I think it's on Amazon still.

But I really started kind of putting up my, I worked for Ed Opperman as a producer for three years.

And that was a really great learning experience.

I was thankful to Ed for taking me on and taking me on board and kind of learning kind of the background of how to do it, how to reach out to people and get the technology right, dates.

Just kind of the standard day-to-day stuff about how to put in that, putting this things together.

So when I kind of branched out on my own, I actually was branching out on my own on YouTube while I was working for Ed.

So I would give him guests and stuff like that and look for guests that he had.

And so I was really YouTube based.

I was not really focused on the podcast angle.

And then I got censored.
