Summary

What is Israel's end game in Iran? Does it genuinely believe Iran is making nuclear weapons - or is this about overthrowing the whole regime? Did Trump make Iran more dangerous when he ripped up the diplomatic deal Obama had forged with the country? And will Trump end up dragging America into a brand new Middle East war?

We talk to CNN correspondent and Ex Files host, Christiane Amanpour and ask how Iranians themselves are feeling about the prospect of their own leaders being toppled.

Later, why is abortion still technically illegal in England and Wales. And does the law need to change? Tomorrow MPs will be given a free commons vote. We ask Labour backbencher Stella Creasy why pressure from America is making her bring this amendment now.

have long believed is an existential threat, the regime of Iran.

And Iran, not surprisingly, has retaliated after a totally surprise attack.

1:38.1

Yeah, strikes hit Iran's Revolutionary Guard, command centers in Tehran overnight, Israel has said.

1:45.1

Iranian strikes,

1:51.3

meanwhile, killing several people in Israel. It is worth just dwelling on, as I was saying there,

1:57.5

the extraordinary capabilities that Israel has managed to demonstrate. Not only the intelligence,

2:02.4

as we were saying on Friday, which has allowed them to target so precisely so many senior members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard and its government. But to achieve

such air superiority, military superiority against an opponent that was always considered to be

2:14.0

at least Israel's equal speaks to Iran's weakness, this moment of weakness,

but also Israel's remarkable technical abilities. And all that said, though,

2:24.3

though Israel has damaged critical Iranian nuclear infrastructure, killed many scientists.
