I'm Martha McCallum, and it's great to have you back with us today.

I guess one of the things that most people didn't have on their bingo card was that Greenland was going to become a huge issue of foreign policy in the second Trump administration.

But if anybody understands the larger dynamic around this, it is our friend and great foreign policy expert KT. McFarland.

She is former Deputy National Security Advisor to President Trump and also the author of the fabulous book, Revolution Trump, Washington, and We the People. KT, great to have you with us.

Well, it's a pleasure. Thank you so much. It's an exciting time to be a foreign policy person.

It sure is. I mean, I almost get the feeling sometimes that President Trump is just such a man in a hurry

and on a mission because he is in the second term. He is looking at the midterms coming in

November and he's just Venezuela. Iran, I think, is a story that is still to be unraveled.

And he wants Greenland and he just spoke at this long news conference and I thought his

comments on Greenland were interesting, Katie, and I want to get your take on them because he has been

saying we will get it, we will buy it, we will own it. Today the language was slightly different.

He was asked, how far will you go to get Greenland? And his answer was,

you'll find out. And then later, he said, we're going to work this out, I think. And he also

said, something will happen that will be good for everyone. What's your interpretation of where

the president is on the Greenland issue? Okay, well, on any issue, Martha, his pattern of negotiating a deal.

And this is his reputation in New York as a real estate developer.
