American Airlines revised its forecast for the second quarter ending in June,

now expecting lower sales and profits than an earlier

forecast. The airline says revenues will likely be down 5 to 6 percent. United

Airlines yesterday reaffirmed its more optimistic forecast. Mergers and acquisitions continue to accumulate in the energy sector.

Conoco Phillips is buying Marathon Oil in a deal valued at as much as $23 billion.

Meanwhile Chevron is a step closer to completing its acquisition of oil and gas producer Hesse.

China's economic forecast got an upgrade today. The IMF expects the country's GDP to grow at a 5% rate this year, a half point better than a previous

forecast. A second former FTX executive is headed to prison. Ryan Salem was handed a more than

seven-year sentence. He pleaded guilty to charges

connected to the crypto exchanges failure. Founder Sambag Monfreed is serving 25 years.
