Five of the Magnificent Seven are reporting earnings. How magnificent will those numbers be? From Marketplace, I'm Sabree Beneshore. Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta are all going to tell us today how they've been doing and how they think they're going to do this year. That is to say, they are reporting quarterly earnings. And Apple is joining them tomorrow. These are five of what are known as the Magnificent Seven, basically giant tech companies. Susan Schmidt is portfolio manager at Exchange Capital Resources and is here to talk about it. Hi, Susan. Good morning. These companies that we're going to hear from have kind of been single-handedly holding up the market for a while now, right?

They really have. They're responsible for the majority of returns in both the NASDAQ and the S&P indices.

Everyone wants to know what they're saying about AI and their capital expenditure plans.

hear from Chairman Powell, potentially his last meeting as the chair of the Federal Reserve. That's

because Kevin Warsh, President Trump's nominee, is likely to be confirmed

today as the next Fed chair. Everyone's waiting to see how the Fed will approach talking about

interest rates. With the increase in oil prices and the increases in prices in general,

there's growing concern about inflation. The Fed may make a statement talking about the level of

rates potentially removing the possibility of rates, potentially removing

the possibility of decreasing those rates over the course of the rest of this year. That'll be a
