It's going to be hard unless they get some surprising

quarterback play to be fantastic.

But could the defense be good enough and Brian Flores be good enough to keep this team in the mix for the playoffs down the stretch?

The answer is yes.

Because if you even look at Miami when he was there

and how their defenses worked,

this is the advantage of having a great defensive coordinator

who should actually be a head coach

is that there's a real edge there. There is a very real edge to having a

great defensive coordinator. If you have great coaching and great play calling at that

position, look Pittsburgh makes the playoffs every year because they have a guy in Mike that's

the playoffs every year because they have a guy in Mike Tomlin who's defense every year gives

them a chance to win games.

That's kind of how I see this year playing out for the Vikings

is that Flores is defense, it gives him a chance week in and week out.

It might not be the number one defense, but it gives him a chance to win enough games to be competitive.

And he did that in Miami without very good offenses and they found ways to have

winning records that's how I envision this going.

And the defense one thing that, it might sound weird a little bit as a factor, but everybody really likes it.

I mean, and everyone would normally say to you, oh yeah, well well I like the defensive scheme. There is a different passion when you ask people about playing for Flores in the scheme. They don't just like oh yeah, well, you know, I'm doing my job or whatever.

They really like the environment he's created and that matters too for how well they pick it up and understand it.
