And for me, that made it very hard to accept the rose opportunity.

And I really only accepted it because I had no other opportunity.

So sort of life saying, this is going to be your next chapter.

I'm recording this ahead of time. So this episode's going to come out two weeks after approximately

that I record this. I'm going to be on vacation. The first vacation I've taken in many, many years,

actual vacation. Well, actually, I'm not going anywhere. We're staying at home, but I'm going to be fiddling around with Spica. I'm actually going down there today to take her out of the shed and do a fall cleaning because we didn't actually watch the boat this year, launch the boat this year. So she needs a good washdown. We're going to clean out the shed, fill around with the boat, and I'm going to watch a lot of movies and read a lot of books and just

be mellow. Go for bike rides. I haven't had much time for myself lately. So it's going to be fun to take a couple weeks off. It's only two weeks. So I'll be back. In the meantime, we'll have Nikki on the show and August on the show and Ben Doe. We're back on the show as hosts. And i'll be back um sometime in october on the podcast

this is a really fun episode um i normally don't um kind of when people like solicit me like

saying they want to be on the show i normally kind of scoff at that but occasionally we get

someone in this case it was a publicist, actually,

for a publishing company. This guy, Will Soffern, had written a book, and the book looked really

cool. They sent me a copy. I read it, actually read it on Falcon earlier this year on the way

up to Nova Scotia. And it was just, I could not put it down. It's like the perfect, the book was like

made for me, actually made for August more so than me. But basically the book is called

All Hands on Deck. And it was about Will and this crew of tall ship sailors were hired by a

Hollywood production company to sail a

tall ship from New England around to Los Angeles. And it was the ship that was going to be

used in the movie Master and Commander. And it was very cool because it's this whole

tallship world. But Will at the time was like a crew on sort of classic yachts and was a shipwright trained
