Hello. I'm working through it in real time. I'm here because I want to talk about what just happened with someone.

And in fact, I want to talk about it with the two of you. It's lovely to see you.

We're having to see you too. So here's what happened. You probably know. I assume it's why you're listening to this podcast.

You probably read it in the title. Chris Rock was presenting at the Oscars.

And Kate and I were slacking, and he was like making some just like rude jokes that seemed off the cuff.

I could tell they're off the cuff because he was making a joke about how a Javier Bardem couldn't win

because to paraphrase Chris Rock, Javier Bardem, Javier Bardem's wife was also nominated.

And clearly Chris Rock forgot Penelope Cruz's name and didn't have it on the teleproject in front of him, right?

So at that point to me, it was clear that Chris Rock was just doing Chris Rock.

And then he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's new hairstyle, which she recently discussed in an interview about a week ago.

And for the last few years, Jada Pinkett Smith has been talking about how she has alopecia

and trying out different hair styles, including wearing some turbans and just seeing what makes her comfortable.
