What is going to be the deal with Philip Rivers? Is he going to play? Is he not going to play?

Here's his head coach, Shane Stike, and so is he in shape and capable of playing? We've got to get him through this week of practice. Obviously, he's been throwing and working out and stuff, but obviously football shape's a little different. So we'll get him back in this week, see how the week goes and make a decision out of the end of the week. Yopman here is Rivers himself feeling still connected to football.

But it also was a game I played a long time and stayed in, stayed in over the last five years. And I know high school ball is different, but staying involved in the game. And I watched the Colts and the Chargers every Sunday, about every snap. That's because he's a high school football coach. Yeah, I know that. And I know that. And I also think that he was, I think I read where he was throwing with Riley Leonard. And I think Riley Leonard said, yeah, you know, he's actually out, he out threw me a few times. Can't say that. Can't say that if you're Riley Leonard. Even if it happened. It doesn't help your case. You cannot be the one who volunteers that information. I think it was Riley Leonard who was talking about that. But I don't know. Well, you know, I'd be shocked if he was playing this week. What the hell is the point of this? I'll tell you why. Because if you're a player or you're a coach, you've got to believe you're going to go out to Seattle and you're going to win.

But realistically, do you think that they're going to beat the Seattle Seahawks under the current set of circumstances with their quarterback?

Let's say it's Riley. No. Okay. So they have Philip Rivers for the last three games of the year. Sure. As opposed to this game. Get them in. Let him practice. Get him here. Get him here. Makes a ton of fenth. And then maybe the last three games of the season, he's your starting quarterback, and it's a

So, look, I'd love to see him play this week, but I just don't know if he's, how can you

put a guy out there that hasn't played in 1800 days?

For me, it would be just entertainment.

Really, the logic doesn't mean anything to me. I want to see it. I think, not five years, but this has been done before, right? Where a guy walks in off the street. Baker Mayfield with the... Well, he did it with the Rams, but he was playing. He was playing for the Panthers. The Panthers released them, and he went out to the Rams and started games that week. I know I mean a guy that was out of the game for a year

and then was signed and played that week.

You know, interestingly enough, after my first year at Monday night football in 1998,

Bobby Bethard did call me to see if I wanted to come back and play for the Chargers.

And I guess this happens more often than we know it.

And I remember saying no, but if I did go to the Chargers, the Bingles were not going to let me go because the Bengals had still one year left on my contract when I retired.
