| 0:24.0 | MCT oil stands for medium chain triglycerides. |
| 0:28.0 | It is a type of fat that is usually extracted from palm oil or coconut oil. |
| 0:35.0 | Coconut oil has MCT oil in it, but when you're getting MCT oil, you're getting just medium chain triglycerides. |
| 0:43.0 | And that's a type of fat that can turn into ketones very, very fast. |
| 0:48.0 | Now, will it break a fast? Well, what is the definition of break a fast? |
| 0:53.0 | What is the same is less than your ability to stay in ketosis or will it lessen your weight loss results? |
| 1:00.0 | I'm going to define breaking a fast as diminishing the results of a fast. |
| 1:06.0 | Okay. Now, there's many benefits of going out of fast. |
| 1:10.0 | Weight loss, cognitive benefits, mood benefits. |
| 1:14.0 | It has a huge benefits of reducing your inflammation, anti-aging benefits. |
| 1:19.0 | And those benefits come from ketones directly as well as turning on or turning off certain genes. |
| 1:28.0 | For example, there are certain genes that are inhibited like cancer genes. |
| 1:33.0 | This is why fasting decreases the risk of getting cancer. |
| 1:37.0 | But even the growth of tumors are inhibited when you're doing a fast. |
| 1:40.0 | So there's many different benefits of going out of fast. |
| 1:44.0 | But when we take MCT oil, we're not going to break a fast very much, maybe just slightly. |
