Ukraine faces another funding hurdle.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zulansky is looking for financial support.

He failed to get immediate backing in Washington for a $61 billion military aid package now.

Zulensky has turned his attention to the EU where in Brussels today

European leaders are locked in a tense meeting about financial and political support.

Hungary's Prime Minister, Victor Orban, is threatening to veto a multi-million dollar package

to Ukraine and Holt talks that could see Ukraine joining the EU.

Speaking earlier, Victor Orbán said it wasn't in his country's interests or those of the EU.

The government's stance at present is that Ukraine's fast admission to the European Union

would have unpredictable consequences. Ukraine's fast lane accession does not serve the interests of either Hungary or the European

Union.

Victor Orbán there, the BBC's Europe editor Danny Aberhard is there. It's basically a situation where there's 26 members of the EU that support Ukraine and support

the opening of accession talks and also giving Ukraine some 50 billion dollars of funds for long-term

financial planning but Victor Orban seems to be holding out. Basically he says

the Commission in assessing whether Ukraine is ready for session talks to start,

said that three out of seven conditions weren't fulfilled.

Victor Orban has problems, for example, with the way Ukraine treats its Hungarian minority minority he says it's a country obviously at war a

country with problems with corruption so he says that basically this decision needs to be put off
