The heart of Christian Zionism is that God has two distinct people—one of whom must be raptured (the church) before God can continue His plan with the other (Israel). 1:21.5	of Christian Zionism, God has two distinct people.
1:36.7	One of those distinct people must be raptured before God can continue his plan for the other.
1:44.0	And his plan for the other involves a mighty Holocaust.
1:45.0	So the idea is Christians get raptured, and the Jews, or Israel, as a second people, suffers a brutal Holocaust, much more brutal than anything they've experienced in the past.
2:09.8	And one of the passages that is so often used to bolster this pretext, and it is a pretext,
2:16.7	it isn't based on the text, it's based on a paradigm that's imposed on the text.
2:20.9	But the text is 1 Thessalonius chapter 4,
2:24.2	and I've often quoted this at funerals,
2:27.2	where the apostle Paul says,
2:31.8	Brothers, we do not want you to grieve like the rest of those who have no hope.
2:39.5	We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him. According to the Lord's own
2:45.5	word, we tell you, we who are still alive, we're not in the grave, and are left until the coming of the Lord
2:54.3	will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
2:59.0	For the Lord himself will come down with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel,
3:07.3	and with the trumpet call of God and the dead in Christ
