The Menendez brothers have pursued multiple legal avenues in recent years, including clemency from the governor, a resentencing hearing, and a renewed push for a retrial based on allegations of long-standing sexual abuse by their father. The claims, initially dismissed by prosecutors, have gained traction with the support of the Menendez extended family, who believe the brothers have been unjustly imprisoned.

Despite this familial backing, Hochman has challenged the credibility of the abuse allegations, asserting that the evidence remains insufficient to warrant a legal reassessment.
