John, I just want to say how good this has been for me to do on a weekly basis. You know, go through

the headlines and try to think about them on a level that's deeper

than a mere reaction or deeper than a like or an angry react on social media or something.

Asking good questions about the stories, having to figure out what ideas and assumptions

are at work behind them.

I think it's a really helpful exercise.

And I hope the same is true for our listeners as we

talk through the stories each week. Well, it's only good if you are grounded, right? I mean,

otherwise, you know, there's two very likely reactions. One is despair that the world is

irreparably broken and, you know, there's nothing that we can do and there's nothing that can be done.

And I think that's a very

real life temptation for Christians in all kinds of different settings. And we should, you know,

at that point, look to how Christians throughout history have dealt with really difficult cultural

moments. Even Christians in other parts of the world right now, we've been doing a lot of

coverage on horrific genocide that's taking place in Nigeria and featured just recently on our podcast, the silencelaughter.org group that is tracking that and doing terrific work, bringing awareness to what is just an incredible situation.
