I served four times as the EU head of mission, first to Cuba, then later on in South Sudan,

then in Mozambique. And my final posting was the EU representative to occupied Palestinian territory.

It is really good to have you and all of your history and expertise here.

So as you mentioned, you've spent more than three decades of your life in diplomacy as an EU diplomat.

And now you are warning the world about what you call a shameful

response from EU leaders on the U.S.-Israeli war in Iran. And we are listening. What has been

going through your mind over these last few weeks as you watch the war and Iran's response unfold?

I was appalled by the initial reaction by European leaders with regard to the unlawful strike by Washington and Tel Aviv on Iran.

Nobody likes the Tehran regime.
