So he wants to make sure that they don't profit. That is speaking Congressman Brian Stiles language.

He's chairman of the committee on House administration, and he called for passing his act,

stop the insider trading act. What did it feel like have the president mentioned that?

It's a pretty surreal moment to be sitting in the hall and have the president of the United States call out legislation I've been working on by name. It's a huge opportunity, though. We have a real moment in time where we can pass meaningful ethics reform in the House of Representatives and get that signed into law. I'm going to go room for Congress. What happens to your portfolio? So a couple, couple pieces of the puzzle.

Once you come into office, you can no longer buy any individual stock, period, full stop. If you arrive

in office and you have stock inside your portfolio, you can hold it, except you provide seven days

advance notice for

any sale. That removes the ability to profit off of any insider information you may garner

while serving. And then it puts real teeth into the legislation to actually enforce the law.

That guts the ability of any member to profit off of insider information. And I think it starts

to reinstate

trust from the American people in this institution. What kind of support do you have in the House?

We're seeing growing support. We passed this through committee. The president putting his weight

behind this legislation, I think gives us the opportunity to get it to the floor and absolutely pass it.

Now that Nancy Pelosi's retiring, she did come up because she's considered one of the
