Summary
Republicans have the power of the purse and a majority can vote to defund certain positions. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna says if the GOP won’t use these parliamentary procedures, if they’re not putting teeth behind the statements they make on television, then the GOP is no better than the other side. Republicans have the power to control funding that goes to different agencies. You see a gross weaponization of the FBI. Luna says it’s our job if we see overreach or abuse of power especially with some of the 3 letter organizations, we should defund them. The FBI seems to think they’re not accountable to Congress. Republicans can vote to defund someone’s position and effectively remove them from whatever appointed position they have. It can be done for the Director of the FBI and Sec. of Homeland Security Mayorkas.
