Welcome back to the Dershow, you know, when President, former President Trump was impeached

the first time and I was one of his lawyers on the floor of the Senate, I made a prediction.

I think I made it to the Senate and I certainly made it in the media that if the criteria

for impeachment that the Democrats allege, namely obstruction of Congress and abuse of

power, neither of which are in the Constitution, was allowed to go forward that we're going

to see the Republicans do the same thing when they take over the House of Representatives.

The rule now is the criteria for impeachment is if you can, if you can do it, if you

have the votes, do it.

Nobody seems to care about the Constitution, not academics who supported Trump's impeachment

and not people on the other side when the shoot was on the other foot.

So I predicted that Republicans would try to use the same lack of criteria to impeach

the next Democratic President well.

As usual, my predictions have come true.

Now several Republicans have introduced resolutions to impeach President Joe Biden.

They won't succeed in this session because obviously the House is under the control of Democrats

and Nancy Pelosi won't bring any impeachment resolutions to the floor.

But if the Republicans do manage to win the House and that's seeming to be increasingly

unlikely, the Democrats are picking up a lot of steam as the result of the reversal

of row versus wave and other developments and also because Biden seems to be doing a much

better job during the last couple of months.

So the Democrats now have a real shot at retaining control of the House, but if they don't,

if the Republicans win even by a narrow majority, you can be sure that these resolutions will
