Should the Bears have seven captains again this year?

Well, if they can get a few O linemen and D-Lyman in there, it'd be nice.

So you can have seven, but let's get a few linemen in there, a few guys who, I always say, guys,

the farther you get away from the guys, the farther you get away from

the football, the farther you get away from football. We've got captains, so I know it's a

larger group that we're used to, but we have a bigger group of leadership now. And Ben Johnson

came in and did exactly what Olin was talking about. That is really interesting that that quote from Olin, which has left a mark and stuck

around our football brains all offseason, was in response to the captain question.

I did not remember that that was the context.

That's fascinating.

Because now there are linemen captain.

There are older veteran captains.

Guys with real accomplishments for their career.

Uh-huh.

Rather than a hodgepodge of theoretical leaders designed to prop up a bad leader in a head coach.

Default leaders because there weren't guys here with those resumes.

Not that the guys that were captains last year weren't worthy, but there's a difference. Like, there's,

there's a difference between, like, just look at Joe Tuny's resume. There's a difference between him

and the guys that were captains last year. Everything that he's accomplished, like, he's got the

hardware. I mean, as soon as Joe Tuny was signed,
