You know, I started this podcast because I've had trouble falling asleep, and I love listening to the Bible, the Word of God.

For tonight's reading, I will be reading from chapter 4 of Matthew.

It's where Jesus goes into the wilderness and then transitions into his ministry.

I will also be reading from Joshua chapter 1 and 2.

And as you read tonight, as we're in this together, here are some things to contemplate.

Tonight's reading is about two leaders that step into a place where they are very different from those who came before them.

Joshua is a picture of Christ in the Old Testament.

And what we find is that both of them are stepping out of a place in the wilderness and into a place of fulfillment. And so if you're meditating on these scriptures, listen for the things that will help you in determining what it is that you're stepping out of in 2019 and what it is that you're stepping into in 2020.

go ahead and lay down,

making sure that your body is in a comfortable position,

allowing every part of your limbs to relax taking now a deep breath in

and really allowing for your lungs to completely fill before then breathing out slowly.

Go ahead and take another deep breath in and as you breathe in,

nestle into the arms of the Lord, allowing the Holy Spirit to comfort you,

breathing in the breath of God and allowing your lungs to fill with life and hope.
