To remind you where we are, Kate Kleinart is sitting home alone after waiting up all night

in a black dress with a now warm bottle of champagne, waiting for her online lover Tony, her fiance, to arrive

from the airport. He never shows. Instead a call comes in the morning from someone who tells her that Tony has been arrested at the airport and she needs to find $20,000 to get him out of jail.

Kate had planned to introduce Tony to her family as a surprise during their holiday party,

but suddenly everything is up in the air.

And Kate doesn't know what to do.

She does know that she doesn't have $20,000.

Kate, a widow, has been living pretty modestly since her husband died of cancer.

And she's already sent Tony $39,000 during the past few months.

She has almost nothing left.

The caller tries to convince Kate to take out a loan on her home or to ask her family for the money.

She tells him she doesn't have any more cash.

We pick up the story there.
