asked Samantha, as she saw Marie standing at the corner of the party with a glass

of beer in her hand. Marie was new to the town, and she was never the type of person who could

socialize very easily in the crowd. She moved into the city to set up her own business,

a startup, perhaps, and rented an apartment for herself till she

stayed in the town. Samantha lived next door to Marie's apartment, and as soon as she knew that a new

neighbor was moved in, she could not resist but to invite Marie to the party that she had pre-planned.

The party is really nice.

You arranged it all by yourself?

replied Marie, as she didn't want to show her discomfort with all the unknown faces

and the pressure of socializing in the crowd.

Well, yes, as a matter of fact, I did arrange it all by myself.

The beer, the snacks, the lighting, and everything around here was designed by me for the night.

Actually, I got a big appraisal from my office, and that led to my friend's demand for this party.

So I had to treat them good, said Samantha, as she laughed between her lines.

She wanted to make sure Marie felt comfortable around the party.

Oh, I see. Congratulations on the appraisal, replied Marie. Though Marie was still confused about what to do

at the party, she still tried to get into the crowd and be a part of it. She played a few of the party

games, danced in a trance for a bit, and gulped down several drinks till she found herself a bit dizzy. After an hour
