Toon either a fourth or a fifth below a standard guitar, a baritone gives a nice full sound

that actually turns up more places than you'd think.

On this episode, it's time to tackle one of the most beautifully simple, simply beautiful

songs ever written, a late 60s masterpiece that sprang forth seemingly fully formed,

despite the fact that the man who wrote it didn't think it was finished.

So, let's drive out to the country, climb up on the pole, and get on the line.

If you've ever written a song, you know how hard it can be to tell when the song is done.

You might have one idea for the song, maybe a really great little melodic hook that you

figure out how to work into a nice chorus, so then you sit down and you start thinking

about the verse.
