Your ego is very, very good at tricking you into thinking that you're leading with your heart.

In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who actually thinks that they're coming from their ego while they're in the heat of the moment.

Everyone across the board thinks that they're leading with their heart.

But here's the truth that most people don't want to admit.

Let's be honest.

Most of us are way too prideful in our communication.

And we all know what that looks like.

You disagree with somebody.

And instead of listening, you immediately start defending your point, right?

You argue like, you're the one who's right and they're the one who's wrong.

And you protect your ego at all costs. And that's just considered normal communication in our

society. If there's a problem, obviously it's their fault. They're the ones who don't get it.

They're the ones who are getting too emotional or too sensitive or too irrational. And so what do we do?

We double down. We keep circling back and making our same point over and over. We make it clear

that if only they were being more logical or more self-aware or more emotionally intelligent,

then obviously they would see things the way we see things.

Does that sound familiar?

And look, in the moment, it feels like we are 100% right.

After all, you have to stand your ground.

You have to assert yourself.

You have to protect your boundaries.

You may be spiritual, but you're not a doormat. You're not a pushover.
