What does that mean?

I'll explain in a second.

Let me read the text that we're going to be in tonight and then give us a little bit of a recent event in my life that will set us up for where we're going really in this series. This comes from

Matthew chapter 18. It's a conversation between Jesus and his disciples, and here's what

happens. Verse 21. Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me?

Up to seven times?

No, not seven times, Jesus replied, but 70 times seven.

Therefore, and he launches into a parable or a story or an analogy to explain what he means,

the kingdom of heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date

with servants who had borrowed money from him.

So he's got a lender, gave out some money, time to settle those debts.

In the process, one of the debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars. He couldn't pay, so his master ordered

that he be sold, along with his wife, his children, everything he owed to pay the debt.

That's a bad day.

But the man fell down before the master and begged him,

please be patient with me, I will pay it all.
