Summary

Most people never research the judges on their ballot—and that may be one of the biggest mistakes we make as voters. Today I'm joined by Judge Dave Larson for a timely conversation about judicial activism, parental rights, rising crime, and why the courts were never meant to become another political battlefield. We discuss the importance of an independent judiciary, the rule of law, and why every Christian should understand what's happening in our courts before heading to the voting booth.

courts, rising crime, collapsing accountability, and families that are paying the price. Judge Larson

warns that judges are not supposed to legislate from the bench or reshape culture based on their

ideology. The job of a judge is to apply the law consistently and constitutionally.

This is going to be a powerful conversation on parental rights, family stability, and why the

family is still the foundation of a free society. This is the Heidi St. John podcast. I'm glad you're

Thank you guys for being here today. I was a very proud supporter of Judge Larson when he ran for Washington State Supreme Court in the last election cycle. He is running again. He came out of retirement to do it. And I love this man. I love his heart. I love his passion for Washington State. I love his

1:29.4

heart for people. And I think one of the strongest lines from the interview is something that he said that

1:34.8

I think will resonate with the rest of you. He said, we're so interested in getting our way

1:39.8

that we've lost our way. And he's absolutely right. He also said that the judiciary should be

1:46.5

the boring branch of government. Dave Larson today is going to talk about the difference between

1:50.6

leaders who seek duty and responsibility versus leaders who seek control and power, or as I would

1:55.7

call them leaders who just want to rack up followers on TikTok or Instagram. We have got to get back to being serious about the deliberative body that is supposed to be

2:05.5

the U.S. House of Representatives, the Senate, and absolutely the judiciary.

I think you guys are going to love this interview with Dave Larson.

And I hope it reminds you to do your homework for everyone who is listening and you guys are voting for judges,

do your homework. It's hard to find information about judges who are or even attorneys who are
