My friends, welcome to Las Vegas. Welcome to the end of WrestleMania, but the start of Raw, obviously, tomorrow. And I just remember the title, we are going to talk about WrestleMania night, too. It's an interesting one. It goes to show how quickly, well, how important 24 hours can be, and how people felt at the end of Saturday nights, and how the people felt at the end of Sunday nights, you may feel differently. And of course, if I say anything you don't like, drop me a comment below.

We can have a chat about it.

0:22.2

I will have a look.

But essentially, yesterday, everybody hated WrestleMania. Not everybody. There was a contingent of people that decided they didn't like WrestleMania. It was bad. And there's nothing that WW could have done to save it. I still think we put hopes in tonight too. But I think maybe proved everyone wrong is what we're getting.

1:47.3

Well, they did prove everybody wrong because people thought if they do this again, it's going to be a disaster. But they didn't. They went out there with Siam Punk and Roman Raines. They took a massive bat and good grief that they hit our home run. And what I really liked about it, this is a smaller side, is it came after the goofiest thing they've done in years at WrestleMania. I think they proved, it reminded everybody what WWE should be. They can do goofy, they can do funny, they can do serious. But CM Punk versus Roman Rains was a serious professional wrestling match. And how did it end? No nonsense, no shenanigans, no run-ins, no men in hoods, nothing like that. It was just, can you beat me? Who is going to win? Roman Raines hits his super spear and he becomes the world heavyweight champion. I don't think they could have done this any better. And that's what I mean by proving people wrong. Let's go back to Saturday night. Some people will have liked this and more power to you that I always say. If you've been entertained by your entertainment show, I'm never going to get mad at you. In fact, I'm very, very happy for you. But there was shenanigans and Pat McAfee coming out as a referee and you have the WW champion retain, but then Randy on kicks him in the head and holds the belt up like it's an episode of Rock. It didn't feel like WrestleMania was the, well, the general the general opinion, but a certain opinion that I did see. Of course I can understand that I've got a brain.

2:01.9

It did feel a bit like Monday Night Raw, or that we're planting seeds to get to the next beat of the story. And actually, there's a rumor, speculation taken with a pinch of salt that a few weeks ago, Randy Yot was penciled in to win the WW title. And then for whatever reason, we changed our minds. I presume that's when Pat McAfee got brought in. Smackdown's going to be an interesting

2:05.5

show this year. But sure, I get it. Maybe it didn't feel like the biggest pay-per-view of the year.

2:09.7

If we had done that on Sunday, I think we talked about this yesterday. It's like John Siener versus

2:13.7

Cody Rhodes from 41. You flip it and you end with Roman Rain, CM Punk and Seth Rollins. I understand we've got a heel turn there. But people like that, so it's going to tell your brain maybe you preferred the pay-per-view more than you actually did. But here, I mean, it was everything. The CN Punk entrance calling back to the Ring of Honor staff. And even if you didn't know it, because they encapsulated everything else he'd done in his career. His jacket he came out with with tributes to his friends, Larry the dog. The fact that he came out that with no music, clicked his fingers, here we go. Roman Raines, the man banging the drone. The fact they looked at each other and they really soaked it in. And give what did happen on Saturday. I think now, and this is the beauty of being a top guy in wrestling, it's going to move around all the time. I would think on the night in the moment at half six and over the flood, the thing started local time, the CM Punk and Roman Raines on the two biggest stars in WWE. That's no disrespect to Cody Rhodes or Randy Orton, but they'd just gone through somewhat of a controversy, people didn't like it.

3:08.0

So when you do have the two biggest guys going from the title, that World Heavyweight

3:11.2

Championship now, this is something else that WW has done, so kudos to them.

3:15.3

I assure the WWE title will always be the one that most people gravitate towards.

3:19.0

But that world heavyweight championship has now been around a few years, when you remember

3:22.4

what Seth did and Gunther did and Drew McIntyre did and a bunch of others, it's established. And I don't think anybody felt lesser than because they weren't fighting for the WWE title and sticking it on guys like punk and Roman Rangers always going to help. But I couldn't guess it. I was back and forth the whole time. I've said this on a few videos, I'm going to keep saying it because of course I am a wrestler myself, so I'm just nerding out to this. I think the majority of it, at least the first quarter of

3:44.7

it, was called on the fly. And that's why I think when CM Punk went to do the lockup and Roman Raines got out of it, and CM Punk went, ha, ha, ha, you're so oily. It's like, Roman Raines being like, I'm doing chain wrestling, bro.

3:57.1

There's one point as well when punk was in the, I don't know what you call it, like the sea

4:01.4

sorpers. I'm doing chain wrestling, bro. There's one point as well when punk was in the, I don't know what he called like the seesaw position on the ropes. And I thought he went in Roman reigns to do the Terry Funk thing when you smack him and he goes like this. And Roman just got rid of him. Maybe he didn't know he wanted to do that spot. Maybe he wanted to do his own thing. But I love it when you see that. That is what happened in a real, if wrestling was real, for lack of a better term, but the rules that we are used to when it comes to sports entertainment, you could somehow do in a real scrap. That's what you would do. That's how it would go. Now, yes, there's a point of contention should Roman Reigns have been disqualified for taking still steps and slamming them into C.M. Punk's head, the answer is yes, but the issue is you have to

4:31.8

go back 45 years, and WW has never done that. And outside tables and ring furniture, or our ringside friends, as we call them, they're just allowed to be used in a main event. I mean, what's the alternative? The referee stops it and then goes, but because it's the main event, we're going to continue. That's just lame. i think that's the one thing that i imagine it's c m punk and i do not know but i can just in my head in my geek brain see cm punk and roman rain and triple eight sitting down to book this and cnepunk being like why do we need shenanigans at the end of wrestle every wrestleman or every paper you having a SummerSlam. Why do we need somebody coming down?

5:04.7

Why can't it just be about the integrity of the sport?

5:07.0

Why can't it be about the belt?

5:08.2

Why can't it be about Roman Raines beating me? If they had decided on the finish by that time, I'd be like, you know what, CM Punk, you are absolutely right. You are right. That's what we need. Now, it's going to take a while because I saw some people say it's disappointing, it's boring, it's not what I want to see from WWE.

5:22.4

And this is the terrible way for me to phrase it.
