0:23.7	is we're studying Genesis 18 through 23.
0:27.0	People might look at the story of Abraham going to sacrifice Isaac and think,

0:34.0	Why would God command Abraham to sacrifice Isaac?
0:39.0	So if someone approached that question with you, how would you help them?
0:43.0	It is a great question because we all know that Abraham was almost a victim of human sacrifice himself,
0:50.0	knew the evils of it, and then just the irony of it.
0:53.0	And he must have been really having a hard time.
0:57.0	The one answer that I heard, I was listening to Truman G. Madsons, Joseph Smith, the prophets.
1:04.0	I guess he was in the company of President Hewby Brown, who was a member of the first president
1:08.0	even years ago, and he kind of asked him that question, hey, if God knew Abraham would be willing,
1:15.0	God knew Abraham would be willing to do that.
1:17.0	Why did he put him through the torture of making him do that?
