Why would a loving God allow a hurricane like Melissa,

the most powerful storm ever recorded,

to destroy homes, take lives, and crush entire nations

who were simply trying to live their lives?

together. If you've been watching the news, you have also been waking up to heartbreaking images from Jamaica and Haiti,

Cuba, Bermuda, homes devastated, families scattered, churches destroyed with floods and communities,

absolutely devastated and weeping. Hurricane Melissa didn't just break

wind speed and pressure records. It shattered hearts and destroyed lives. And our question today

is raw and it's real. Why does God allow storms like this to strike good, innocent people?

If you've ever asked that question, today's message is for you. One of the things I love about

the Bible is that God doesn't hide from storms. He walks straight into them. In Mark

Chapter 4, there's the story of Jesus calming the storm.

Jesus speaks, hurricanes hush. He commands and the weather says, yes, sir. Listen to the words of

those who were watching this. They said, who is this? That even the wind and the sea obey him? Think about it.

When Jesus calmed that storm, he wasn't just proving a moment, a miracle. He was revealing his

identity. Jesus is Lord over the weather. He's Lord over wind. He's Lord over waves. He's

Lord over walls of water 50 feet high. Not once, not sometimes, and not only in Bible stories.
