I was really thinking about the homesteaders of old, so I love modern homesteading homesteading. So I love modern homesteading,

but when people back in the day did their homesteading,

the homesteading law was if you went and settled

a piece of land for seven years and you did improvements on it,

then that land became yours. But most of the people that were traveling to get their piece of land

and to do the Homestead Act, they were leaving everything behind
