Summary

Above all else, we need to get the Tories out - but how do we have the best chance of reversing awful Tory laws, getting electoral reform, and stopping Starmer's authoritarian impulses? This is the solution - and here's my answer to the critics, too.

Ooh, be afraid. Be very afraid. There is a new bogeyman, a who's arrived on the scene,

0:06.0

and that is the prospect of a hung parliament. Now, this chatter has been largely driven by the

0:11.4

local elections in which the Tories got absolutely battered. Oof! But, they didn't do as well

0:17.2

as they hoped, and the Lib Dems and the Greens actually did far better than they could even have

0:22.4

dreamt of. So, what this showed was, there's a large majority of this country, what the Tories

0:27.6

out on the way, which makes sense, because they trashed the country. But they're not sold,

0:32.6

the British public, on Kier Starmer. And if I'm honest, I'm more than empathised with the great

0:36.9

British public on all of those counts. Now, I actually think a Lib Dem majority is still pretty

0:42.0

likely, given the extent of Tories' self-destruction. Three Prime Ministers have one term,

collapsing public services, and the Scottish Nationalists having a bit of a mayor,

1:08.4

inflation falls, and Starmer's general unpopularity, his ratings are poor, despite getting the

1:14.2

easiest ride from the media of any Labour leader since Tony Blair. And if that cuts through,

1:19.1

then who knows? I mean, elections a year away, probably, at least, maybe more.

1:24.1

Now, I wrote a column this week, arguing that a hung parliament would actually be a good idea,

1:28.8

contrary to all the kind of noise about it being disastrous. And about it being chaotic,

1:34.9

oh, can't have chaos in this country, come, imagine that! Could you imagine, chaos, or fall?

1:41.8

It's like, thank God we avoided that after the Tories won their 80 seat majority. We've just had

1:46.8

stability, tranquility, ever since. Volunteers will be really, you get the gist, ludicrous,

1:52.5

clearly, to suggest chaos is something we are protected from by a government with a massive
