An approach, an approach to healing that we may be getting wrong. What is that approach? Well, there's a lot of people out there rightfully so looking to defeat their anxiety, looking to destroy it, overcome it.

And yes, overcoming something that is preventing us from living a life that we want to live is an okay mindset, but to defeat something is a little different.

Anxiety, my friends, comes from the brain body's filter system. This is a filter system that naturally, keyword, naturally looks for the threat first.

Okay, it looks for the threat first. You know, the mind and body work very, very closely and the body is always playing catch up to the mind.

So if in fact a person's core beliefs and their thinking patterns are aligned, then the body will say, okay, this is true.

But it takes emotion, it takes repetition before the body begins to jump on board.

So we need to understand this filter system. We need to understand that threat comes first. Why? Well, to keep you alive, to keep you alive.

And if this filter system was focused solely on the pleasantries around and all the happiness that you're going to gain in the future because of a particular situation, then, you know, that really wouldn't keep you very safe, would it?

Looking out for the threat, keeping you standing on guard, in fact, maintains your survival, at least to the system.

But we need to teach it. We need to teach it. And that's what we're doing here.

You know, this system within us is very opportunistic, isn't it? I mean, if it has a chance, just a small chance to look for the potential danger and something new, it will let you know.

It will let you know through intrusive thoughts, it will let you know through sensations, symptoms, whatever it is.

And so we need to understand that this filter system is based around experiences and information that it held on to from your past.
