He is former journalist and current English teacher who has written the book, Education, Revolution, Media, Literacy for Political Awareness,

available from Zero Books.

Richard Wolfe, the author of Democracy at Work,

says of Sam Shane's book that it addresses and boldly answers a burning question

for our time, how to develop critical political awareness given corporate media and their political

biases. And as a public school teacher, Sam, Shane has long practiced answers to the question.

And this book contains the wisdom that he has acquired on what needs

Because, you know, your book is about how we are going to create a generation of young people who know how to avoid bullshit and lies and who are capable of

thinking for themselves.

Is that a fair description?

That's definitely the goal.

I mean, but it's going to take a lot more than me in rural Maine doing it. I'm really

hoping that a lot, this is, book is read far and wide and more people kind of pick up on this sort of thing.
