I want to speak from the subject why we don't rest and I want to we're gonna go

to an ancient passage in what is now known John as John chapter 9 and we'll

get there in a few minutes but I want us to try to extrapolate from thousands of

years ago which I think is incredibly relevant and prevalent today and

understand further why maybe many of us can't settle down why can't we get

rest why can't we get recuperation why aren't we sleeping well isn't it

interesting I wish like 30 years ago or so that I invested in companies that

like help people sleep because we have a whole industry now must be a

billion-dollar industry the sleep industry right whoop mood ring right and it's

all like monitoring your sleep and are you sleeping well we've discovered

that sleep is essential fun facts you ready for some fun facts do you know a

giraffe sleeps one and a half hours that's it every day do you know that a giraffe

did you know there's a brown bat that sleeps 19 and a half hours a day on

average what's your you the giraffe or the bat that's not really the message but

it's got a fun right are you more giraffe are you more bat sleep is an

interesting rest is such an interesting topic we all want it but oftentimes in

our day and in our age it seems deeply elusive here's a funny observation I've

made I can't tell if sleeping in is something I should be proud of or something

I should keep to myself am I the only one like it's amazing the different

reactions I get from different people when I tell them on any particular day

which is hopefully many days a week where I sleep in now my job is an interesting
