Three minutes after ten is the time of very good morning indeed to you. We've got six hours

left together in 2020 so do feel free to make suggestions for things that you would like to be

covered on the programme. Drawn of course from the current affairs agenda rather than from your own box of

enthusiasms I just would like a little bit of help today does anybody understand what

happened with the counting over the last time because at the press conference last night

which I didn't watch but I've watched the relevant clip Boris Johnson seemed to be claiming

there were 150 lorries stuck in Kent.

We really reached the point where even counting cannot be relied upon. I heard Pretty Patel giving a

succession of, well, interviews of varying awfulness on various media outlets this morning. And she did at least

reach the end of that round

with figures that sounded fairly accurate, although she seems to be struggling to understand

what the word static means. I don't know. We may get to the bottom of that. Four minutes after ten is

the time. So I thought it's not really rearview mirror necessarily,

except in the sense that we should learn from what has gone before.

But I had a bit of a crisis of conscience this morning

because I remember, or I've said to you quite a few times,

that it's really sad and probably dangerous to see the way

in which almost every single story becomes black and white in a nanosecond and you have to

pledge your allegiance to either black or white and then start shouting furiously at the other lot

because I mean I don't know actually whether or not things are considerably worse than

they used to be it feels that way to me but I'm just as susceptible as you are to having my nose

right up against the canvas and so not being able to see the bigger picture.
