It looks like Kamala Harris's running mate is set to be a governor because according to Reuters,

Harris has narrowed her VP decision down to two choices, Josh Shapiro and Tim Waltz, both incredible choices, but which would be the optimal choice for

Kamala Harris if she wants to win this election.

Before I give you my take, let's just be clear,

either one she chooses will be far superior to J.D. Vance,

the couch-loving misogynist whose favorability rating is in the gutter making him the least liked

running mate in the GOP's history. Now, let's think about it. Shapiro or Waltz.

On the one hand, Josh Shapiro definitely has a more youthful energy both in physicality and the way in which he campaigns. He's a terrific communicator. He can fire up a crowd and he's well liked in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania a must win state for Harris.

Shapiro is also a bit more centrist which could help Harris appeal to independence and

moderates. On the other hand, Tim Waltz has the perfect everyday man vibe.

He is a down-to-earth likable guy who also has the support of Bernie Sanders which is a sign that he

may be able to pull in more progressives into the Harris tent so although Josh Shapiro is more well known than Waltz, Shapiro could just as easily help Harris win Pennsylvania, even if he wasn't her VP pick and could serve as an excellent surrogate for her because of his national presence.

And although Josh Shapiro is younger than Waltz and has that energy, Kamala Harris is already

dominating the Gen Z vote so she doesn't need that much help in that category.

Which leads me to think that Waltz would be the safest choice for Harris if in fact the choice is between these two

contenders Waltz can appeal to Midwest, Middle America in similar ways that

Biden did while also remaining an exciting choice for progressives.

And at the same time, you could have Josh Shapiro campaigning hard for

Kamala Harris in the key swing state of Pennsylvania

in the same way that he would even if he was

her VP so it's almost a best of both worlds situation if she chooses waltz over Shapiro.

Me personally, I'd be stoked with either,
