Last week I was at a conference in Australia talking to people about American politics, and something really strange happened.

Why the heck did these Australians know so much about what goes on in Iowa, or at Trump's criminal trials,

were the potential effects of Cornell West and Bobby Kennedy making it onto the ballot?

Why the hell are there so many American politics junkies in this country?

Yes, the stakes are high in terms of Australia's foreign policy and America being our

major strategic partner, if not economic partner.

But it is also, you know, it is,

they talk about politics being, you know,

show business for ugly people.

Well, it's just show business to us.
