You talked about General Marshall, who may be one of the finest Americans who's ever lived.

There's only ever been 700 million of us, half of all Americans who've ever lived or alive right now.

But General Marshall, this figure of towering humility,

judgment, probity, rectitude, titanic figure.

And in 80 years', whatever river we've gone down, from Marshall to Pete Hegseff,

and so Pete Hegseff, regardless of what he calls himself Secretary of War or a kangaroo,

he is the Secretary of Defense under statute under law, so that's what he is.

When he walked into a room of 800 generals, in front of a giant American flag strolling the stage,

reenacting the opening scene from Patton, which is exactly what it was.

There is a training, right, in the military that you're familiar with, of course,

that young officers,

NCOs are taught that you get out of your foxhole and you go to your men,

not the other way around.

So a leader goes into the field to the front and goes to where the men are and not the

other way around. So 800 generals at great expense are gathered in one room at a set hour to listen to Pete Hagseth

and to listen to Donald Trump.

And I just wonder how you processed that as you saw it.

There's a lot of stuff that goes on

that isn't necessarily visible to the layperson.

If you have an expert fly fisherman, they can see something on the river that my naked eye doesn't see.
