Steve Schmidt here with the warning, and I am thrilled today to be joined by Ryan Liza,

at Teleos, and also the renowned American patriot and jurist, Judge Michael Ludig,

who has written exclusively with Ryan today a piece that we're going to talk about that is important

to talk about. And it's about something that's difficult for me to talk about in a public

space, which is faith and belief. And self-evident truths steeped in faith and belief.

So because Judge Ludig is one of the preeminent jurists of this generation in history

will record in this moment of American crisis his titanic integrity and contributions

to the sustainment of the rule of law.

I think we should start this conversation by invoking some of the words of another giant of American

history, another jurist, Judge Lernet Hand, who gave a speech in 1944 called the Spirit of Liberty.

And I'm going to read an excerpt of that speech as we get started

in the conversation. And Judge Hand said in 1944, what then is the spirit of liberty? I cannot define it.

Can only tell you my own faith. The spirit of liberty is the spirit which is not too sure that it is

right. The spirit of liberty is the spirit which seeks to understand the mind of other men and

women. The spirit of liberty is the spirit which weighs their interests alongside its own

without bias. The spirit of liberty remembers that not even a sparrow falls to earth unheeded.

The spirit of liberty is the spirit of him,

who near 2,000 years ago taught mankind that lesson it has never learned,

but never quite forgotten,

that there may be a kingdom where the least shall be heard and considered side by side with the

greatest. And now in that spirit, that spirit of an America, which has never been, and which may

never be, nay, which never will be, except all the conscience and courage of Americans create it yet in the
