Summary

We are days away from one of the most heated presidential elections in American history. However, there's a lot more on the ballot than just the president. Jody Barrett, our local Tennessee Representative joins us in the studio to talk about why he got in politics (against his will), and why we need to send the right people to represent us, not just vote for who we are offered.

We've talked a lot in the past about local politics, the importance of local politics and not losing sight of that when people keep talking about the most important election of our lives being about the White House, for example.

I was going to say I have really enjoyed having you in the Capitol on our behalf for the last two sessions.

You've been through an entire term now, almost, technically not until after election day.

And there's a couple of things I want to ask you.

Number one, what you've learned, because it wasn't that long ago that you were a newly elected freshman.

But also, you bring some stuff to the table that I think is unique and helpful.

You had a really, you came out of the gate hot as a freshman, and you did an awful lot this past session as well.

Oh, and you also got the governor called a special session, so you got a little more.

I got an extra overtime experience in there as well.
