We've talked a lot in the past about local politics, the importance of local politics and not losing sight of that when people keep talking about the most important election of our lives being about the White House, for example.

So today, we're having our local representative in-house, and we're going to discuss how we got started, what you should be thinking about,

and more of that community building stuff, which is the other thing we harp on about.

Welcome back to another episode of T-R-X Talk, and my guest here is not just our local representative, Jody Barrett, of the 69th

district here in Tennessee, but we're in the 69th district, so you're my representative.

For better or worse?

I would say, I would say, are we commenting on the previous representative when you say that?

No, no, no, no, no, no, no shade being cast here.

I was going to say I have really enjoyed having you in the Capitol on our behalf for the last two sessions.

You've been through an entire term now, almost, technically not until after election day.

A couple of weeks left.

You have a couple weeks left until you're done with your first term.

And there's a couple of things I want to ask you.

Number one, what you've learned, because it wasn't that long ago that you were a newly elected freshman.

But also, you bring some stuff to the table that I think is unique and helpful.

You had a really, you came out of the gate hot as a freshman, and you did an awful lot this past session as well.

Oh, and you also got the governor called a special session, so you got a little more.

I got an extra overtime experience in there as well.

Yeah, sudden death, overtime kicked in. So there's been a lot of stuff that's happened

over the last couple years that you've been there. But first of all, I want to ask, well,
