All through history, God has made himself known to mankind such as through the prophets and biblical times

But after the Bible something changed in the way God makes himself known some Christians say that the age of prophecy is over and God no longer gives revelations at all.

But most Christians have recognized that he still does and has done all the way down through the centuries.

Yet we shouldn't believe it every time someone claims

they've had a revelation from God. So how can we tell which revelations are

credible and which aren't? How does the church look at the matter? And what does it mean

when the church approves an apparition?

And that's what we'll be talking about on this episode of Jimmy Yakin's mysterious world.

A lot of doctrinal development has occurred in the last 20 centuries.

Has the church formulated a more detailed set of guidelines for

evaluating private revelations today? Yeah in 1978, St. Paul the 6th approved a

document issued on that subject by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the

Faith and the document is called norms regarding the manner of proceeding in

the discernment of presumed apparitions or revelations.
